Youth School Championship

Previously known as the Youth School Tournament, the Youth School Championship is MIF's flagship annual event. Established in 2015 by Mzuvele Mkhize together with the youth of Maphumulo, it gives primary and secondary school learners a platform to compete in soccer, netball and arts while emphasising the value of education. The event takes place on Youth Day — 16 June — as a deliberate choice to turn the national holiday into a day of commemoration, talent and achievement.

It has grown from 4 secondary schools in 2015 to now 10 secondary + 9 primary schools. In 2026, the championship expands further: group stages across four circuits, finals at Sabuyaze Sport Grounds.
